Beacon Law

We champion equal justice for homeless, low-income individuals and remedy the conditions that burden and marginalize them.

90% of America's civil legal aid need goes unmet, but that's not the case with our Beacon Law program. Volunteers help Beacon Law meet the legal needs of Houston's homeless.

We will be accepting new applications for legal services starting Monday, August 3, 2020.

While our intake is closed, clients may contact Lone Star Legal Aid at 713-652-0077 or Houston Volunteer Lawyers at 713-228-0735.

The Process

We currently hold intake and provide legal advice and counsel at The Beacon Day Center on Mondays, excluding major holidays. Arrive by 8 AM to register for services.

We also conduct intake through other coordinating shelters in the Houston area. If you are receiving services in a Houston area shelter, speak with your case manager regarding service.
