Pro Bono Attorneys for Beacon Law
With an active Texas bar license, you can apply to be a pro bono volunteer with Beacon Law. Our civil legal aid program offers bite-sized cases to pro bono attorneys to assist our clients in navigating critical issues that impact housing, employment and income.
Our pro bono program helps us increase access to justice to our most vulnerable clients so they can regain stability and move forward in their lives. Our legal team walks alongside our volunteers every step of the way.
Pro bono cases include (but are not limited to):
- Expunction and Nondisclosure
- Class C ticket advocacy
Time commitment varies depending on the case, but typically the timeframe is three to six months per case.

Mentor Commitment Includes:
• A 12-month commitment to one program participant.
• Bi-Weekly check-ins with your mentee via call, text, or in person.
• Mentor Meeting once per month.
• Submitting a brief monthly report of hours spent with your mentee.
• Participation in mentor orientation and ongoing training.

No counseling background is required; just consistency, compassion, and a desire to support a woman in transition.
